Joe, I hate to break it to you, but being "biblical" doesn't make anything
true any more than the word of mouth mythologies that sprung up during this
era. The entire new testament was made up by Constantine's boys and
collected together to form what you call God's word. It was ALL done by the

Some facts:

The "virgin" birth is only mentioned within two gospels, and both of
which dramatically differ. They are also full of logical and temporal
inconsistencies, as if they were inserted an existing manuscript.
Further, the concept of a virgin birth extends well into the old
testament. Jesus is not the first so-called virgin birth in the
bible. Several other mythologies have virgin births as well.

As with many of the statements of the nativity, most scholars agree
that the virgin birth by Mary was added by the gospel writers, or more
probably their 'editors', long after the original manuscripts were
written in order to better match Jesus' life story with savior
predictions in the old testament. It also made him quite 'god-like'
given that any 'pagan' god worth its salt at the time was born of a
virgin.

Personally, I don't care if Jesus was born of a virgin or not. I mean
come on, be serious. It does not affect my faith one bit.
