GAINESVILLE, Fla. � The imam proposing to build an Islamic center near
the World Trade Center denied a Florida pastor�s claim that a deal had
been struck to move the project.

�I am glad that Pastor Jones has decided not to burn any Qurans,� Imam
Feisal Abdul Rauf said in a statement. �However, I have not spoken to
Pastor Jones or Imam Musri (of Florida). I am surprised by their
announcement. We are not going to toy with our religion or any other.
Nor are we going to barter. We are here to extend our hands to build
peace and harmony.�

At a press conference earlier, the Rev. Terry Jones had said a deal
was made, and as a result called off his plan to burn Qurans on the
anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks this Saturday.

After the imam�s denial, however, Jones spoke to reporters a second
time, saying he had been �lied to� but still wanted to meet with Rauf
on Saturday.

At the first press conference, Jones said he had met with Imam
Muhammad Musri of the Islamic Society of Central Florida and that
Musri had told him that officials would guarantee that the mosque
would be moved.

�I asked him three times, and I have witnesses,� Jones said. �If it�s
not moved, then I think Islam is a very poor example of religion. I
think that would be very pitiful. I do not expect that.�

But after the first press conference Musri said what he offered was a
meeting among Jones, the New York imam and himself to talk about
moving the mosque.

Musri also thanked Jones and his church members �for making the
decision today to defuse the situation and bring to a positive end
what has become the world over a spectacle that no one would benefit
from except extremists and terrorists� who would use it to recruit
future radicals.

Pastor may not recognize impact of burning plan

�We are, of course, now against any other group burning Qurans,� Jones
said during the first news conference. We would right now ask no one
to burn Qurans. We are absolutely strong on that. It is not the time
to do it.�

President Barack Obama earlier implored Jones to call off his Quran-
burning �stunt,� saying it would jeopardize U.S. troops abroad.

Obama told ABC�s �Good Morning America� in an interview aired Thursday
that he hopes Jones listens to �those better angels.�

�And as a very practical matter, I just want him to understand that
this stunt that he is talking about pulling could greatly endanger our
young men and women who are in uniform,� Obama said.

Jones, leader of a small Pentecostal church with about 30 members in
Gainesville, had been planning to burn copies of the Islamic holy book
on Saturday, the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

�Look, this is a recruitment bonanza for al-Qaida,� Obama said of the
planned burning. �You could have serious violence in places like
Pakistan and Afghanistan.� The president also said Jones� plan, if
carried out, could serve as an incentive for terrorist-minded
individuals �to blow themselves up� to kill others.

Jones had said that a call from the Pentagon, State Department or
White House might make him reconsider his plan.

On Thursday, Jones said Pentagon chief Robert Gates had called him to
urge he back off.

Pentagon Press Secretary Geoff Morrell confirmed the call took place.

�They had a very brief conversation during which he expressed to the
pastor his grave concern that going forward would put lives at risk,
especially in Iraq and Afghanistan. And he urged him not to proceed
with it,� Morrell said.

The decision for Gates to make the call was a �collective� one,
according to Morrell, but he did not elaborate.

�If that phone call could potentially save the life of one man or
woman in uniform then it is a call worth placing,� he said.

Obama has gotten caught up in the burgeoning controversy surrounding
the practice of Islam in America, saying at one point that he believed
that Muslims had a right to build a mosque near the site of the Sept.
11 terror attacks in New York City.

Earlier, several members of his administration, including Secretary of
State Hillary Rodham Clinton, had denounced the Quran-burning plan.

Also, Army Gen. David Petraeus, the ground commander in Afghanistan,
has said the act of burning the Quran could endanger troops fighting
there.

The State Department is cautioning Americans worldwide that there is a
�high potential� for violent anti-American demonstrations if the
church goes through with its plans. Officials noted that
demonstrations have already been reported in Afghanistan and Indonesia
and they urged Americans abroad to avoid areas where protesters might
gather.

I think it's the book, and they would dismiss anyone who may appear
too curious to believe in the Bible. God created everything... and who
created God?

Curious George would also question that a serpent can talk or would

Jharkhand gets new Chief Minister on Saturday

New Delhi: Jharkhand Governor, M O H Farooq, has invited BJP�s chief
ministerial candidate Arjun Munda to take the Chief Minister�s oath at
11:00 am on September 11 and prove his majority in the Assembly in
seven days.

Clearing decks for formation of the BJP-JMM government in Jharkhand,
the Union Cabinet on Thursday recommended revocation of President�s
rule in the state.

�The Cabinet has made appropriate recommendation to the President
based on Governor�s recommendation,� Home Minister P Chidambaram said
after a meeting of the Union Cabinet, which took up the issue.

The Governor had sent his report to the Centre on September 7 after
Munda, an MP, staked claim to form the government earlier this week.
Backing him are 18 BJP MLAs and another 18 from Shibu Soren�s
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha or JMM.

President�s Rule was imposed in Jharkhand on June 1 with the Assembly
being put under suspended animation after BJP withdrew support to the
Shibu Soren-led government after the latter voted with the UPA during
cut motions in Parliament and no party came forward to form an
alternative government.

The two parties are coming together after a gap of three months.

In the list submitted to the Jharkhand Governor, there are 18 MLAs
each of BJP and JMM, two from JDU, five from AJSU and two Independent
MLAs � Chamra Linda and Bidesh Singh.

Congress, which has 14 MLAs and its ally JVMP 11, has not shown
interest in forming government in the state owing to �trust deficit�
with JMM.

Senior Congress leaders, on condition of anonymity, said the party
realises that its mandate is to sit in the opposition there and it
will continue to do so instead of �muddying� the political waters
there.

In the event of Munda being invited to form the government, it will be
the eighth government after Jharkhand was carved out from Bihar on
November 15, 2000. It would be Munda�s third term.

Babulal Marandi was the first chief minister before Munda took over
from him. In between Madhu Koda held the post once and Soren thrice.

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has said it was ready to
support �like-minded� parties if they initiate steps for government
formation government in Jharkhand, three months after President�s rule
was imposed on the state following the resignation of party chief
Shibu Soren as chief minister.

�The state is reeling under severe drought and needs a government
represented by the people. JMM MLAs met tonight and felt that the
party should be open in reaching out to like-minded parties interested
in taking the lead in formation of a new government,� JMM-LP leader
Hemant Soren said.

Hemant, who along with his father Shibu Soren returned from New Delhi
earlier in the day, said the people of Jharkhand should not be
�imposed another elections lest the voters will lose faith on the
elected members�.

�Elections were held only in October/November last year and it is not
good for the state and its people to face polls every six months. What
is the guarantee that the next elections would throw up a majority?
What if a fractured mandate was given again?� Hemant said.

Asked on the choice of a party which JMM would prefer to go with,
Hemant said, �No single party, we are open to any party and will
support if it were interested in forming the government,� Hemant said.

Shibu Soren had stepped down on May 30 after failing to muster
majority following withdrawal of support by its then ally BJP on April
24 after a month-long drama of now-on and no-off ties between the two
parties.

Both JMM and BJP have 18 MLAs each in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly
which is under suspended animation now.

When contacted, BJP�s spokesman Sanjay Seth said, �That is true that
elections should not be held every six months and there is no harm if
anybody gives a strong and development oriented government. Instable
governments will only give rise to Naxalism.�

JPCC president, Pradeep Kumar Balmachu, said that in a democratic set-
up President�s rule was only an alternative arrangement made when
there was no stable government in the state.

�And the arithmetic of all political parties in Jharkhand is such that
no one can give a stable government,� he said. Congress has 14 MLAs
while its pre-poll all JVM-P has 11 legislators.

Jharkhand farmers� misery: Suicide the only option?

Jarad village, Jharkhand: Farmers in Jharkhand have written a letter
to the President of India and the Governor, requesting them to grant
permission to commit suicide.

�We have written to the president and the governor that if the
situation does not improve soon then we will go ahead and commit
suicide,� said Chandeshwari Singh, farmer.

One might dismiss this declaration as a mere publicity gimmick,
however acute drought like situation in the region has forced these
farmers to take the extreme step.

This is the second year of drought for these farmers. Two years of no
crop, no rain, and no relief from the Government.

�The drought has affected the region for the last two years. How do we
educate our children? We have no money. If we are not able to educate
them then how will they survive?� says, Birsa Karmali, another farmer.

Jharkhand is grappling with a 42% rainfall deficit this year. All
districts have already been declared drought-hit.

�I want to assure all farmers across the state that we are taking all
steps to help them in these trying times,� says M O H Farooq, Governor
of Jharkhand.

But going by the desperation of the farmers, relief plan balm is not
pacifying enough.

In a country, where farmer suicide is not a new term, more important
is to understand why they take such drastic steps?

Kolkata: For nearly 10 kilometres, she was made to walk naked across
three villages. She is 17, and at every step, men molested her,
filming themselves on their mobile phones. Hundreds of people watched
and cheered.

This is the incensing story of an adivasi girl from a village on the
border between Bengal and Jharkhand. The incident took place four
months ago. The local panchayats in the region informed nobody of what
she suffered.

It was only after MMS clips of the girl went into wide circulation
that the police reacted. Five of the men who molested her have been
arrested. The West Bengal Women�s Rights Commission has decided to

She was reportedly being punished because she fell in love with a boy
from a different community.

Now, JMM ready to back BJP govt

Ranchi, Sept. 7: A wily Arjun Munda managed to extract unconditional
support from the JMM and stake claim to form a government in Jharkhand
today, three months after Shibu Soren�s flip-flop prompted the BJP to
pull down his government and put the state under President�s rule.

Munda, accompanied by MLAs and leaders from the JMM, Ajsu and JD(U),
met Governor M..H. Farook this afternoon and submitted a list of 45
legislators who, he claimed, supported his latest initiative.

The list included names of 18 MLAs each from the BJP and the JMM, two
from JD(U), five from Ajsu and two Independents � Chamra Linda and
Videsh Singh.

Munda even ensured the presence of 44 MLAs at Raj Bhavan today, except
JMM MLA Paulus Surin, who is lodged in Chaibasa jail. Among the
heavyweights who joined them were Ajsu chief Sudesh Mahto, JMM�s Dumka
MLA and Guruji�s son Hemant Soren and BJP�s Raghubar Das.

By the evening, governor Farook was understood to have sent a report
to the Union home ministry recommending that President�s rule be
revoked in the state.

The Union cabinet is likely to take a decision tomorrow.

�The governor will extend an invitation to Munda only after
President�s rule is revoked,� said a Raj Bhavan official.

If it was Soren�s insistence on retaining the chief minister�s chair
that led to his downfall on May 24, this time, Guruji played the role
of a father figure, blessing the new dispensation by choosing to stay
away from the race for the top post.

Today, all MLAs supporting Munda assembled at Soren�s Morabadi
residence at 12.30 pm when he garlanded the BJP general secretary and
Jamshedpur MP, Mahto and even son Hemant, asking them to run the new
government smoothly.

JMM legislature party leader Hemant said they had offered
�unconditional� support to the BJP for the sake of the state�s
development.

Soon after coming out Raj Bhavan, Munda said, �We have full majority.
The next government will be formed under the leadership of the BJP.�

Although he said a power sharing formula was yet to be worked out it
was fairly certain that Munda would be the next chief minister while
the JMM and the Ajsu would have to be satisfied with ministerial
berths based on their number of MLAs.

Earlier, BJP MLAs elected Munda the new legislature party leader after
party president Nitin Gadkari called Das from Moscow, asking him to
quit his post. Das, who was in Hazaribagh yesterday, rushed here and
joined his partymen at Raj Bhavan.

Hemant and others tried to look confident even though the JMM would
have to iron out internal differences. As before, Simon Marandi did
not hide his displeasure.

�If senior and experienced ones are not given space in the government,
this government will also not survive. I oppose the government
formation move,� said the Littipara MLA.

Predictably, the Opposition was harsh. The Congress described the move
to form a new government as an �unholy and opportunistic alliance�,
while Left and other parties called for dissolution of the Assembly.

Ally JVM heaped scorn on the Congress. �Credit goes to the Congress.
Had it dissolved the Assembly, BJP-JMM would not have made a move to
form a government,� said JVM chief Babulal Marandi.

An American execution expert, Leuchter designed and maintained gas chambers
for several US penal institutions. He was sent by Ernst Z�ndel to
investigate Auschwitz, Majdanek, Dachau, Hartheim and other alleged "Nazi
Death Camps" and "gassing facilities." Author of the devastating series of
Leuchter Reports. (I, II, III, IV) and many articles and videotaped

Dr. Faurisson first discovered the technical and architectural drawings of
the Auschwitz morgues, the crematories and other installations. He was also
the first to insist that only a U.S. gas chamber expert could unravel the
technical impossibility of the Auschwitz homicidal gassing story - as
falsely told to the public for over half a century.

stories on how the gas chambers were supposed to have worked, and for the
first time expresses his doubts on the existence of gas chambers and a Nazi
policy of extermination.

The book created a scandal, and on November 2, 1950, was even attacked on
the floor of the French National Assembly.19 More because of the foreword by
Albert Paraz than for the content of the book, both Rassinier and Paraz were
sued for slander by various organizations. After a see-saw round of trials
and appeals, both Rassinier and Paraz were acquitted, and an expanded
edition of The Lie Of Ulysses was published in 1955, which sold well.
However, the uproar led to complaints from members of the SFIO, and on April
9, 1951, Rassinier was expelled from the party "in spite of the respect
which his person imposes", as the expulsion document noted. A rehabilitation
effort by Marceau Pivert was rejected.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on a front-page news
story in today's New York Times on the problem of child sexual abuse:

Reporter Paul Vitello shows the shocking extent of child sexual abuse in
Brooklyn's Orthodox Jewish community. He also details the cover-ups that
have long been aided and abetted by law enforcement.

Where have all the church-and-state advocates been all these years when
Orthodox rabbis were allowed by the D.A.'s office to settle these cases
"internally"? Where have all the professional victims' groups been in
staging protests outside synagogues? Where have all the sue-happy lawyers
been seeking to plunder the Orthodox? Where have all the comedians and
late-night entertainers been in cracking jokes about rabbis raping kids?

It's not just Orthodox Jews who have been given a pass: no group has
gotten away easier than public school employees. Consider this. Because
public school students have only 90 days to file suit, it is already too
late to prosecute a teacher-in virtually every state-who molested a minor
as recently as last spring. But if the offense took place in a Catholic
school, the student has years to file suit. Not only that, molesting
teachers are still shuffled from one school district to another; it's
called "passing the trash."

Orthodox Jews try cases of child rape in rabbinical courts. Imagine if
the Catholic Church failed to report abuse cases to the authorities and
decided instead to institute its own ecclesial courts? Today's article
quotes a Jewish attorney urging law enforcement to recognize "religious
sensitivities" for the guilty by seeking alternatives to prison. Allow a
Catholic attorney to advise the same and it's called corruption.

Last year, 40 minors in this small Jewish community said they were
abused. Last year, there were 10 such allegations in the entire Catholic
Church in all 50 states. Catholics are fed up with the duplicity. It's
not just Roman Polanski who can rape and run with impunity these days.
The politics of child rape is sickening.

Getting on with the topic, I don't think Switzerland rejected anything.
The Swiss requested a transcript
of the judgement or similar court document from the L.A. district attorney,
and the D.A.'s office claims they never received the request.

Apparently the request was transmitted via the State Department. The
request either went into the circular
file at State or it got "lost in translation" from "Swiss" into English at
State. It is even possible that Polanski has a friend in the bureaucracy of
State who accidentally misplaced the request or otherwise made it disappear.

The New York Post reports that 54 Jews are undergoingtwo weeks of
training in upstate New York from "Israeli Commandos and US Army Special
Forces soldiers" who teach them weapons handling, international politics,

Revisionist scholar Dr. Robert Faurisson is brutally attacked and
severely injured for the sixth time by three young men claiming membership

during WWII.

5/15/85:

The home of revisionist Dr. George Ashley is damaged by a crude
explosive. The letters "JDL" are spray-painted on the sidewalk in front of

After weeks of rabble-rousing in the Canadian Jewish News (and other
periodicals), an anti-German rally takes place at Allen Gardens (Canada).
During the rally, speaker after speaker publically denounce and slander a

police lines to attack those inside. Neither the rally organizers, speakers,
or attendees are censured for these acts. (In contrast, imagine what would
have happened had Germans held a similar demonstration about Jews!)

delegation but missed. A week earlier, Levy had been arrested for physically
assaulting -- in a courtroom -- a 77-year-old Latvian native.

A daredevil in a red jumpsuit, equipped with suction cups and an
American flag, clambered up 58 stories of a San Francisco residential
tower Monday to dramatize the vulnerability of skyscrapers to
terrorism and his own fight against cancer.

It was also, his publicist acknowledged afterward, an attempt to call
attention to his recent book – which, he said, details his concernsin
detail.

The climber, who identified himself in a flyer as Dan Goodwin, a.k.a.
SpiderDan, was greeted by police as he reached a balcony two floors
below the top of the 60-story Millennium Tower at 301 Mission St. He
was arrested for trespassing and creating a public nuisance, both
misdemeanors, said Lt. Kevin McNaughton.

Goodwin, 54, is a building contractor who lives in North Lake Tahoe.
According to a news release left for reporters at the outset of his
three-hour climb, he had scaled the World Trade Center in New York in
1983 to illustrate the difficulty of rescues from skyscrapers.

He claimed he was recruited by U.S. military personnel in 2000 to
train them for a World Trade Center ascent, but backed out after being
diagnosed with an advanced form of cancer a month later.

After the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the twin towers,
Goodwin said, he vowed to make the public aware of the dangers of
living beyond the reach of conventional rescue equipment. That was the
point of “Skyscraperman,” a book he published in January, and the
purpose of Monday’s climb, he said.

“The No. 1 reason Dan was on that tower today was that he wants to
call attention to the lack of ability to rescue people from
skyscrapers in this country,” his co-author, D.B. Guidinger of Marin
County, said in a phone interview from Japan. “We could use
helicopters to do rooftop rescues, and there are other methods – a lot
of things are better than what we have now.

“Sure, we’re plugging the book, too, but the book is a byproduct of
all of this,” he said. “It’s just where he put it all down in
writing.”

Guidinger said the last major building Goodwin climbed was the CN
Tower in Toronto in 1986. His continuing concern for skyscraper
safety, and the desire to inspire those with cancer, are what drew him
Monday, Guidinger said.

“He’s got other things planned, but I can’t get into that,” Guidinger
said. Upon hearing from The Chronicle that Goodwin had just made it to
the top without falling, Guidinger sighed with relief and said, “We’re
celebrating on the other side of the planet.”

Building security alerted police about 2:15 p.m., and fire crews
rushed in and hollered at the climber to come inside, while officers
cordoned off a one-block area and rerouted Muni buses, McNaughton
said. When he continued to ascend, the officer said, several officers
followed him up each floor from inside the building as others deployed
to the roof.

Applause broke out among several dozen onlookers on the street when
Goodwin reached the balcony around 5:20 and waved before his arrest.

Chris Brown, who lives on the 42nd floor and shot videos as SpiderDan
crawled past his window, was among those applauding.

“I feel what that guy’s going through,” he said. “He’s making the most
of his life at this moment.”

Rebecca Schutt of Lafayette, a concierge on the ground floor of the
Millennium Tower, was less approving, wondering how a resident coming
out of the shower might feel to see a red-suited stranger at the
window. “He had other ways of exhibiting his platform,” shesaid.

Aside from the question of whether Prof. MacDonald is right is the further
question of what difference it makes if he is right. If correct, his thesis
certainly sheds light on the rapidity with which whites lost their will.
Just a few decades ago whites were a confident race, proud of their
achievements, convinced of their fitness to dominate the globe. Today they
are a declining, apologetic people,ashamed of their history and not sure
even of their claim to lands they have occupied for centuries. It is very
rare for fundamental
concepts to be stood on their heads in the course of just a generation or
two, as has happened with thinking about race. Such speed suggests there has
been something more than natural change.
